Twitter appears to have put site troubles from earlier this year behind it. Speculation of it’s earlydemise did not come true and now twitter is stronger than ever. But where would Twitter be without all the useful tools that help you get the most out of it? Here are a selection of Twitter add-ons and tools for Firefox which will make twittering a breeze.

TwitterFox - One of the most popular twitter plugins for firefox. Well designed, it places a twitter icon at the top of your browser and notifies you of updates.

TwitterBar - TwitterBar allows you to post to Twitter from Firefox’s address bar. A small unobtrusive grey icon sits to the right of your address bar; clicking on it will post your tweet, and you can hover your mouse over it to see how many characters you have left.

Twitkit - TwitKit is a Twitter sidebar for Firefox. TwitKit has a 6-section interface, using tabs to separate content. You can view the Twitter public timeline, your user timeline, a list of your friends and their latest tweets, a list of your followers and their latest tweets, @replies made to you, and stats about your account.

PowerTwitter - Power Twitter adds features to the Twitter Web interface including displaying Flickr photo and YouTube videos. TinyURL links are also unwound to show the destination page title. Finally, any additional social information (blogs, photos, etc.) that match for the Twitter user are displayed in a news feed in the side bar of the Twitter page.

Twitzer - Twitzer is a Firefox extension which lets you post text longer than 140 characters on Twitter.com.

Twitbin - Creates a sidebar on your firefox browser to allow you to communicate with twitter.com. Send and receive twitter messages from anywhere on the web.

DashBlog - All in one plugin for FF3 that allows you to instantly post on Twitter, Blogger and Tumblr.

TwittyTunes - Allows to post your currently playing songs to Twitter with a click. As a bonus, you can also post the websites you’re visiting, videos you’re watching and more!

Reload Every - Allows you to set your tabs to reload every few seconds or minutes, handy for sites like Twitter.
